There is a steady flow / increase in immigration starting in the 1820's through a steep increase just prior to 1870. I imagine this increase was caused by multiple wars going on in Europe at that time. The bulk of the immigration early in this period stems mostly from Ireland due to the Great Potato Blight / Famine that not only hit Ireland but the rest of Europe. Ireland got hit amongst the hardest! This was followed by the United Kingdom (England) and then Germany. This is most definitely believeable especially knowing all of the wars that happened during this time between 1860 through 1870. Couple this with a mass famine across northern Europe and you get the perfect recipe for mass migration out of Europe immigrating to the United States. There is a large spike in immigration to the United States - just prior to 1870. Very pronounced due to multiple wars as well as the Austro-Hungarian Empire forming and expanding through central Europe.
Throughout this time period from 1820 to 1870 it appears the percapita real GDP was increasing throughout the world! Many countries from different areas around the globe saw a steady increase in percapita GDP. This appears to be a booming period of economic activity. This is a great candidate for further exploration in the future!
This is very interesting! It seems there was a global event that happened across the world - starting around 1845 multiple countries around the world saw a dramatic dip in life expectancy across the globe! I cannot find nor recall an instance in history that would affect the world like this. I need to do some further research on this to see what happened here. It's evident something affected the world life expectancy - just not sure what?
The population across the world was steadily increasing albeit not that much! You can see where there is a gentle slope increasing for nearly all countries. It's very gentle. Not a whole lot of anything interesting going on here.
